Nationally, September is Big Brothers Big Sisters Month. Local agencies across use this month to celebrate, recognize, and promote all of the great work that they do! And this year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lanark County is doing it right.
We have a month jam-packed with all kinds of great events.
We kicked off the month with a donation campaign at Andress' running from Saturday, September 4 to Saturday, September 11.
Wednesday, September 8 features a visit to the Volunteer Fair at the Community Centre Arena in Smiths Falls. Over 30 community organizations will gather at the arena from 2 to 4 pm, and 5 to 8 pm. If you are interested in volunteering in Smiths Falls, but don't know where to start this is the perfect place!
Carleton Ford is hosting a test drive event in our honour on Saturday, September 11 from 9 am to 4 pm. Come test drive one of the new vehicles in their line-up and Ford Motor Company of Canada will make a $20 donation to BBBS. Carleton Ford is now offering to MATCH any donations made by Ford of Canada.
A number of community agencies will be hosting a Community THANK YOU BBQ at Centennial Park along the Rideau Canal in Smiths Falls. It's our way of saying thank you to our supporters, volunteers, and the great community we work in. To pre-register, please call 613-283-9743.
On Friday, September 17 from 9:30 am to 4 pm, agency representatives will be on hand to answer all of your pressing questions and provide the need-to-know information. Thought about volunteering, but had some hesitations? This is the perfect place for you. Come enjoy the Fall day at the coffee shop!
The Smiths Falls Farmers Market will be honouring Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lanark County as Business of the Week on Saturday, September 25. Stop by between 8 am and 1 pm and support the great community you live in.
